Mildred Harriet Klees - March 5, 1914 - Dec. 21, 1956

Mildred Harriet Klees was born Mildred Harriet Bowman on March 5th, 1914 to Maude Eliza Bowman & Luster G. Bowman.

Mildred was a sister to Pearl, Evelyn, Gladys, Betty and Frances, Stanley, Lloyd, Russell, Jim and Jack. Mildred was married to Frank Klees for a period of time and was the mother of two children, Joan and Donald.

Most of her life was spent working as a chef in restaurants and on the ships of the Great Lakes.

Prior to her death in 1956, Mildred had met the love of her life, Mr. William Gray who resided in the Hamilton area. It had been their plans to marry, own and operate a restaurant and gas bar near Clappison's Corners.

Although I spent my first nine months with you, I never really knew you. I have no idea what your favourite colours might have been, the music you liked to listen to or the people whose companionship you enjoyed. I have only the few pictures left behind in a faded photo album.

A day seldom goes by that I don't think of you and wonder how things might have been different had you stayed a little longer. This memorial then, is dedicated to the mother I never knew who always seemed just out of reach.
